What is the most active/popular MMORPG at the moment? Any suggestions of what I should get into for a while?

I am interested in getting into a new MMORPG and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. What are the most active ones at the moment? If I get into a game, I would like it to last for a while. I used to play City Of Heroes about 5-6 years ago but don't want to get into it again since their numbers are dwindling. So what would you recommend? I also don't mind whether it is pay-to-play or free. Thanks!|||World of Warcraft or Guild Wars. D%26amp;D Stormreach can be fun, and is a blend of premium and free content. Used to play City of Heroes / Villains myself; now, I'm just waiting for Star Wars: The Old Republic.|||It's hard to recommend a specific MMO game, because everyone has a different taste in games. Enjoy :)|||I recommend Guild Wars. I have played both Guild Wars and World of Warcraft, and I prefer Guild Wars all the way. It's a really fun game, a ton of quests and missions to do, a lot of online players, and a one-time fee (I recommend getting the expansion packs too, however. If you can only afford the base game and one expansion, then I recommend getting Heroes as the expansion).|||World of Warcraft has about 12 million players. The game has alot of high end content players but very few of hte low level content. Though WoW has a dungeon feature about level 16+ that lets you join groups with people on all different servers so it helps a bit. I dislike WoW though personally. Graphics are kind of cartoonish. Final Fantasy 14 recently came out. I heard that one was supposed to be "breathtaking visuals" and I am sure being new it will have people to group up with right off the bat.|||You should check out this football game:
